Tetney is an attractive village approximately 3 miles south of Humberston, Grimsby, located on the A1031 coastal road to Mablethorpe. The village is surrounded by open Lincolnshire countryside and is close to the coast.

Tetney village has a well stocked Spar shop which includes a Post Office. The local pub is the Plough Inn. There is a fish and chip take away. Just 5 miles away is a Tesco super store with 24 hour opening hours. There are also extensive shopping facilities in Grimsby, Humberston, Waltham and Cleethorpes, all just a short distance away.
Tetney village hall hosts local social activities including evening dance lessons. It is also the venue for the Tetney Tots parent toddler group and a pre-school play group.
Education is provided by a local primary school and high school in nearby Humberston. There are also a couple of sixth form colleges in Waltham and Grimsby. Grimsby College provides further education and is linked to a number of universities providing degree qualifications.
Religious worship is catered for by St Peter’s – St Paul’s C of E church and St Johns Methodist church
There are many nearby leisure facilities including a golf club in Humberston, a health club in Humberston (ten minute drive), a large leisure center in Cleethorpes and a cinema complex as well as many other clubs and sports activities. A few miles further down the coast is the Covenham Water Sports centre with sailing, wind surfing and water skiing.
Tetney is not far from the coastal resorts of Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Sutton on sea. The Lincolnshire Wolds is nearby as well as many other nature walks and reserves. A high light of the year is the baby seals at nearby Donna Nook which attracts visitors from all over the country. |
